Article Icon 1Delta Flight Turns Back after Haze Fills Cabin

A Delta Air Lines flight was forced to return to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Monday morning after a smoky haze filled the cabin.

The flight’s 94 passengers exited the aircraft using the emergency slides, wing exits, and cabin door. See photos of the haze and the passenger evacuation here.

The Boeing 717 aircraft was about 30 minutes into its flight to Columbia, South Carolina when the passenger cabin became hazy. The reason for the haze has not yet been released.

The scare follows a series of airline crashes and accidents in recent weeks that have left some air travelers anxious. For Atlanta-based Delta, it was the second incident in eight days involving one of its flights. On Feb. 17, 18 people were injured when an 80-passenger Delta flight flipped over on a Toronto runway.

Article Icon 1Georgia in Top 20 for Remote Work

Georgia ranks No. 16 in the nation in the share of private and public employees who work from home, according to a study that also compared states by co-working spaces, download speeds, and wages.

Overall, Georgia placed No. 19 in the rankings. New York, Illinois, and Pennsylvania made up the top three. Alaska, Hawaii, and Arkansas were the bottom three.

The debate over the pros and cons of remote work intensified this month after President Trump ordered federal workers to return to the office five days a week starting this week.

The Department of Veterans Affairs under Secretary Doug Collins, a former Georgia congressman, directed remote workers to return full-time, affecting about 100,000 employees across the U.S.

On Monday, Trump’s cost-cutting chief Elon Musk said federal workers who failed to return to the office risked being placed on leave and losing their jobs.

Article Icon 1‘Most Neighborly’ Towns Listed

WorldAtlas released a list of the “10 Most Neighborly Towns in Georgia” and praised the state as a whole, saying, “Georgia is one of the most appealing states in the United States.”

Buford, Canton, Decatur, Duluth, Greensboro, Jefferson, Lawrenceville, Snellville, Suwanee, and Thomasville made the list. See the publication’s description of each town here.

While a name ending in “ville” might seem to give a town an edge, the selections were based on each town’s historic attractions, community pride, and “Southern hospitality,” the authors said.
