Firefighters continued to battle two massive wildfires in southeast Georgia, with rain showers giving crews a chance to strengthen containment lines and protect homes.

The fires have now scorched more than 55,000 acres combined, with the Highway 82 fire in Brantley County doubling overnight Sunday to top 22,600 acres and the Pineland Road Fire in Clinch and Echols counties growing to about 32,000 acres.

More wildfires also continue to flare, with the Georgia Forestry Commission battling 15 new blazes on Sunday alone.

A group of Macon-Bibb County firefighters deployed Monday morning for Brantley County as part of a growing statewide mutual-aid response.

Tucked along Factors Walk, Savannah’s Graveface Museum jams true crime artifacts, taxidermied oddities, and free pinball into one of the state’s strangest cultural stops.

Founder Ryan Graveface spun the museum off from his Starland District record shop in 2020, after realizing visitors ignored either the records or the oddities.

Exhibits dig into John Wayne Gacy and Ed Gein cases, while the venue’s 2025 True Crime Con featured cult survivors from Jonestown, Heaven’s Gate, and Love Has Won.
