Knicks Await High-Flying Hawks

The red-hot Atlanta Hawks will enter the NBA Playoffs as the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference, set for a first-round matchup against the No. 3 New York Knicks.

Atlanta rode a 20-5 closing stretch to lock up its playoff position and clinch the Southeast Division title.

The game against the Knicks will tip off at 6 p.m. Saturday in New York, with television coverage available on Amazon Prime Video.

On Sunday, with the division title in hand, the Hawks finished the regular season with a 143-117 loss to Miami.

More America 250 Fun Ahead

Columbus will host a stop on the national U.S. 250 Tour on April 23–24, the latest event celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.

Lake Lanier levels are dropping, raising concerns about the water supply for metro Atlanta. The Chattahoochee River north of the city is running lower than normal.

Meanwhile, firefighters battled a wildfire on Buzzard Mountain in White County, with roughly 26 acres burned and 60% containment as of Monday.

The state is experiencing its worst drought in 14 years, with the latest U.S. Drought Monitor showing 98% of the state in some level of drought and 18% in the most severe category.
