Article Icon 1 4 Killed in Apalachee High School Shooting

Two students and two teachers were killed and nine others hospitalized in a school shooting Wednesday morning in Winder, about 40 miles northeast of Atlanta.

Colt Gray, a 14-year-old student at the school, was taken into custody and charged with murder. Police say they’ll seek to try him as an adult.

Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith confirmed during a brief news conference that multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the school following reports of an active shooter at 10:30 a.m.

Students sought safety within the school and then in the football stadium while police responded. The school was secured by midday, and students were released to their families.

Officials announced that Barrow County schools will be closed through the end of the week.

Hundreds of DeKalb County School employees did not receive their paychecks due to a payroll issue at the end of August.

Superintendent Devon Horton attributed the payroll failures primarily to data entry problems and complications with a new Enterprise Resource Planning system.

These issues disrupted the financial stability of about 550 staff members, most of whom were either new or had recently changed positions within the district.

How does Kailo work?

When you experience pain, it’s typically the result of electrical signals being sent from the location of the pain to your brain. The worse the pain, the stronger the signal.

Kailo’s microcapacitors communicate directly with the brain’s electrical system, telling it to “turn down the volume” of the pain signal (like a “bio-antenna”). This allows your brain to send help, reducing the pain immediately.

Kailo doesn’t use medicine or drugs, so nothing foreign or toxic enters your body.
