The Atlanta Dream and Golden State Valkyries left the court for the national anthem during Game 1 of the WNBA Finals on Saturday in California.

Neither team nor the WNBA issued a statement explaining the teams’ absence, which drew criticism, including from some fans.

In 2020, the Dream were at the center of an anthem protest, with the WNBA players’ union defending the actions, saying the anthem does not represent freedom, justice, and liberty for all Americans.

Game 2 is tonight in San Francisco.

President Trump will hold a midterm rally in Macon on Saturday, his second Georgia campaign stop in just over a week.

At a rally Friday in Dalton, Trump campaigned for governor nominee Rick Jackson, U.S. Senate nominee Mike Collins, and other Republicans. You can watch a replay of the candidates’ remarks here.

Former Georgia Bulldogs star Todd Gurley, a two-time NFL All-Pro running back, flew with Trump aboard Air Force One to the Dalton rally.

On Saturday, U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff and governor candidate Keisha Lance Bottoms rallied with fellow Democrats in Cobb County.

The state’s Georgia Grown campaign is in full swing this month, helping shoppers identify products grown, raised, or made in the Peach State while keeping dollars at home.

The 37th Georgia National Fair wrapped up its 11-day run in Perry on Sunday under the theme “America250: Georgia Grown.” This year’s fair also featured a 155-foot Ferris wheel called the Georgia Wheel.

Next up: the Sunbelt Ag Expo, which opens Tuesday in Moultrie. Twenty food vendors will serve everything from barbecue to peach ice cream through Thursday.

“Purchasing Georgia Grown supports Georgia farmers, small businesses, and local communities while providing consumers with fresh, high-quality products,” a state agriculture department spokeswoman said.
