Several of President Trump’s top political advisers are joining U.S. Rep. Mike Collins’ campaign for Georgia’s U.S. Senate seat.

Political analysts said the move is a possible signal that Trump may endorse Collins ahead of the June 16 Republican primary runoff.

Collins advanced to the runoff against former Tennessee head football coach Derek Dooley, who has been endorsed by Republican Gov. Brian Kemp.

Collins was the top Republican vote-getter in the primary with 41% to Dooley’s 30%.

The Atlanta Press Club and Georgia Public Broadcasting will host a two-day series of runoff debates starting on Sunday, possibly minus one of the GOP governor candidates.

In the GOP primary for governor, Lt. Gov. Burt Jones agreed to debate while runoff candidate Rick Jackson has thus far declined.

Jackson offered to debate on June 14. Jones criticized Jackson’s rejection of the Monday matchup on social media, accusing Jackson of “dodging debates.”

Sunday’s debate schedule will feature the Republican candidates for U.S. Senate, GOP and Democrat candidates for lieutenant governor and secretary of state, and GOP candidates for Public Service Commission District 5.

Monday’s lineup will feature GOP candidates for state school superintendent, including incumbent Richard Woods, Republican hopefuls for the 11th Congressional District in north metro Atlanta, Democrat candidates for labor commissioner, insurance commissioner, the 1st Congressional District, and Fulton County Commission chair.
