FBI agents executed a court-authorized search at the Fulton County elections center in Union City on Wednesday, seeking the county’s 2020 election ballots and other records.

The FBI confirmed the operation but declined to provide additional details. Fulton County officials also confirmed the search but declined additional comment.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Department of Justice refiled a lawsuit against Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger seeking unredacted voter data, this time in Atlanta after a federal judge last week disallowed the original filing in Macon.

The action comes as federal authorities investigate allegations of fraud related to the 2020 election as well as Georgia voter registrations.

Georgia ports handled nearly 5.7 million 20-foot equivalent container units in 2025, marking their second-busiest year ever.

Georgia Ports Authority President Griff Lynch reported the achievement on Monday, with Gov. Brian Kemp noting the ports are “critical to Georgia’s ability to attract new jobs and investment.”

Looking ahead, work continues on the ports system’s $4.5 billion infrastructure improvements that will add five new container berths in Savannah and a new inland terminal in Gainesville.

Elsewhere, the ports authority reported a record year for the regional port in Chatsworth and efficiency gains systemwide, with the average time to move a container from vessel to train down to 22 hours from 28 hours a year ago.

Savannah College of Art and Design continues as a nationwide leader in campus and community safety, currently investing over $200,000 to buy and install state-of-the-art cameras in the 30-acre Forsyth Park.

The cameras will be fully accessible and operated by Savannah police.

In 2015, SCAD allocated $1.6 million to become the first university in the nation to fund ShotSpotter gunshot detection technology for its community and local police department.

The latest initiative comes as an investigation continues into a December acid attack that injured a woman near the park.
