Gov. Kemp Announces $1 Billion Tax Rebate

Gov. Brian Kemp announced a $1 billion tax rebate for Georgia taxpayers, marking the third such rebate in recent years.

Funded by the state’s budget surplus, the rebate aims to provide financial relief to residents amid rising living costs.

Taxpayers will receive $250 for single filers and $500 for joint filers. The rebates will be distributed after the next legislative session, with payments expected by summer 2025.

Kemp framed the rebate as part of his broader economic agenda to support families, small businesses, and local communities.

DA Willis Employee Unlawfully Withheld Records

A judge ruled that an employee in Fulton County DA Fani Willis’s office unlawfully delayed responding to open records requests made by attorney Ashleigh Merchant, who represents Michael Roman, a co-defendant in the Trump election interference case.

Merchant had requested documents related to media monitoring contracts and the handling of Roman’s case.

The judge found that the delays violated state laws and emphasized the need for transparency, noting the office failed to comply with the legally required timelines.

Chick-fil-A Announces New App

Chick-fil-A announced it will launch the Chick-fil-A Play app on November 18 with free, family-friendly content such as shows, podcasts, games, and recipes.

Its original shows will include animated series and scripted podcasts, providing unique entertainment for kids and parents to enjoy together.

In addition, the app will feature e-books, interactive stories, jokes, conversation starters, and video-based crafts.

Chick-fil-A describes the app as a digital extension of its in-store hospitality.
