Debate Over Visa Rules Ongoing

More than two weeks after the immigration raid on the Hyundai battery plant in Bryan County, U.S. and South Korean officials continue to discuss policies on trade and immigrant visas.

President Trump said the U.S. remains open to allowing foreign experts into the country to assist with projects, on the condition that they are eventually replaced by U.S.-trained workers.

In Georgia, nonprofit groups reported they continue to field calls from families looking for information about non-Korean workers arrested in the raid. Non-Koreans made up about 155 of the 475 workers arrested. South Korea flew its workers home last week.

  Rising Stars Shine in Falcons’ Win 

The Atlanta Falcons rolled over the Minnesota Vikings 22-6 on Sunday night behind a dominant defense, a bruising run game, and five field goals from newcomer Parker Romo.

The team’s investment in young stars shows early signs of paying big dividends, head coach Raheem Morris said.

“It’s what we talked about all throughout the offseason, those guys having big roles for us, whether it was rushing, whether it was ball hawking for us. Both of those things were on display today,” Morris said.

Bijan Robinson ran for 143 yards, and Tyler Allgeier added a late touchdown. Atlanta sacked Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy six times and forced three turnovers to move to 1-1 on the season.

Downtowns Gain National Spotlight
