Greene Exits Congress
U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Rome, marked her final day in office on Monday, calling her five years in Washington, D.C., an honor while continuing to speak out on healthcare and other issues of importance to her and her district.
She also posted on social media about stopping for lunch at her local Steak ‘n Shake in Rome, which has drawn national attention for its billboard honoring the late Charlie Kirk and its message, “Stand up. Speak out. Stay bold.”
In an interview, Greene noted agreement with President Trump on 98% of her votes, while also defending her recent criticism of Trump, fellow Republicans, and Democrats over healthcare, the Epstein files, and foreign military intervention.
On healthcare, she said, “Democrats with Obamacare and the ACA tax credits have virtually destroyed health care and made it unaffordable. But I’ve been very critical of my own party for doing nothing about it, and they have still done nothing about it.”
A crowded GOP field is lining up to replace her in the heavily Republican district, with a special election expected to be scheduled in the near future.
