Georgia A Retiree Magnet
Retirees are flocking to Georgia, which ranks as the No. 5 state in the nation for net migration among people aged 60 and older, according to a study.
Already home to more than 2.3 million people aged 60+, the state drew nearly 14,000 more retirees than left in 2023, based on the study’s review of U.S. Census Bureau estimates.
Georgia ranked behind Florida, North Carolina, Arizona, and South Carolina.
The study also listed the top 10 cities attracting retirees, but no Georgia city made that list. Cities with the biggest retiree exodus included New York City, Los Angeles, and Denver.
