Article Icon 1Tyrese Gibson Arrested for Animal Cruelty

Actor and singer Tyrese Gibson was arrested on Oct. 3 on an animal cruelty charge after at least one of his four Cane Corsos fatally attacked a neighbor’s dog in Buckhead on Sept. 18.

Gibson turned himself in after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was released on a $20,000 bond.

“On behalf of my client, Mr. Tyrese Gibson, we wish to extend our deepest condolences to the family who lost their beloved dog in this tragic incident,” Gibson’s attorney stated in an Instagram post. “He accepts full responsibility for his dogs.”

Gibson’s four dogs have been rehomed.

Dr. Fredrick C. Williams, the superintendent of Dublin City Schools, announced his retirement earlier this week.

His departure comes amid significant financial challenges for the district, including a projected $12 million budget shortfall.

“This decision does not come lightly. My commitment to the district runs deep,” said Williams. “After much reflection, I believe it is the right time to begin the next chapter of my life and spend more time with my family while exploring personal interests I have long set aside.”

Marcee Pool, the district’s K-8 Curriculum Director, is serving as interim superintendent.
