Officials warn that invasive yellow-legged hornets are threatening Georgia’s agriculture industry by preying on honeybees and other essential pollinators, and are urging residents to report sightings to help stop their spread.

“It’s crucial that we work together to protect our state’s #1 industry—agriculture,” Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J. Harper said.

Officials are advising Georgians to look out for the insect’s embryo nests and report any sightings to the Georgia Department of Agriculture’s Plant Protection Division or a licensed pest management professional.

The announcement comes amid Georgia Agriculture Awareness Week, which comes to an end after today.

Filmmaker Tyler Perry gave $1,000 gift cards to around 250 Transportation Security Administration (TSA) workers at Hartsfield‑Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

A day before, Perry attempted to hand out money directly to TSA employees, but they were not allowed to accept it due to certain restrictions.

TSA agents have been working without pay for more than 40 days due to the ongoing partial U.S. government shutdown.

However, President Trump signed an executive order on Friday directing federal officials to begin paying TSA workers.
