Article Icon 1Two Georgia Football Players Arrested for Shoplifting

Two Georgia Bulldogs freshmen—offensive lineman Dontrell Glover and running back Bo Walker—were arrested in Athens on misdemeanor shoplifting charges.

Both players were booked into the Clarke County Jail and released on bond.

“We were informed of the charges and are currently in the process of gathering additional information,” Georgia spokesman Steve Drummond said in a statement. “This is a pending legal matter and we will not have further comment at this time.”

Last month, Nyier Daniels, an offensive lineman for Georgia, was arrested following a police chase. He was dismissed by Georgia head coach Kirby Smart the day after.

  Article Icon 1New Jobs Coming to Colquitt-Miller County

Gov. Brian Kemp announced that Grupo Vialume, a Brazilian-based manufacturer of visibility solutions for transportation safety, will invest $4.4 million to establish its U.S. manufacturing operations in Colquitt‑Miller County, creating 150 new manufacturing jobs.

“We are thrilled to expand our manufacturing footprint into Colquitt, Georgia. This decision reflects the growing demand for sustainable products, the strength of our supplier base in the United States, and the greater ease of exporting to our commercial partners,” said João Paulo Moura, CEO of Grupo Vialume.

The company will repurpose an existing building located on E. Crawford Street into a factory that’ll produce plastic pavement markers and reflective lenses. Upgrades to the facility are expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
