Georgia has removed nearly 471,000 people from its voter rolls.

The state previously sent notifications to inactive voters, mainly those who have moved or not voted in recent elections, offering them 40 days to challenge the removal.

Officials describe the cancellations as a routine effort to keep registration lists accurate.

Individuals removed from the voter rolls who would like to vote in this year’s city elections will need to re-register by early October. Voters can check their status and register to vote here.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport has launched a pilot program introducing eGates in collaboration with TSA and CLEAR, aiming to streamline security processes ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which is projected to bring 20 million international travelers to the U.S.

Atlanta is the first U.S. airport to adopt this technology.

The biometric eGates, working alongside the TSA’s security system, will automatically confirm travelers’ identities by matching their faces to their ID and boarding pass. Once verified at the eGate, passengers can proceed directly to physical screening.

The service is currently only available to CLEAR+ members, which costs $209 annually.

The Atlanta-based Home Depot Foundation has committed $10 million in skilled trades training to expand career opportunities for young people and bridge the labor gap in construction.

The residential construction workforce gap is projected to cost the industry $10.8 billion annually.

The initiative includes a $1 million collaboration with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. This partnership will launch a two-year pilot program across clubs in Atlanta, Phoenix, and Houston, engaging over 1,000 youth in hands-on experiences in carpentry, electrical work, HVAC, and plumbing.

“The skilled trades offer some of the most promising career paths, yet many young people either aren’t aware of or lack access to these opportunities,” said Erin Izen, Executive Director of The Home Depot Foundation.
