Spirit Airlines will be furloughing 1,800 flight attendants nationwide, including over 300 in Atlanta.

The move is a part of a broader effort to reduce costs amid the airline’s second Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing within a year.

The furloughs will begin on Dec. 1, following voluntary furloughs starting Nov. 1.

The decision comes nearly two months after Spirit Airlines announced plans to furlough 270 pilots.

Truett McConnell University, a private Baptist college in Cleveland, has separated from its president, Dr. Emir Caner, following an investigation into allegations of a sexual abuse cover-up.
