Article Icon 1Arrests Made in University Hazing Case

Two students from Fort Valley State University have been arrested in connection with a hazing incident involving the college’s marching band.

The arrests follow a criminal investigation into an alleged hazing incident that took place at an off-campus residence on Sept. 24.

On Sept. 25, the university suspended the band indefinitely from all activities.

“We understand the seriousness of this situation and the impact it has on our community, particularly during Homecoming season. Our top priority is the safety and well-being of all our students and the entire Wildcat community,” the university said.

In a similar incident, Georgia College & State University placed two fraternities on interim suspension earlier this week following reports of hazing and alcohol policy violations.
