Woman Convicted for $9M+ Amazon Fraud
Brittany Hudson, a metro Atlanta woman and owner of an Amazon delivery contractor, was recently convicted by a federal jury on 30 counts of conspiracy, wire fraud, money laundering, and forgery for defrauding Amazon of more than $9 million.
In 2022, Hudson and her romantic partner, Kayricka Wortham, an operations manager at an Amazon warehouse in Smyrna, used their positions and authority to create fake vendor accounts and submit fraudulent invoices. Wortham approved the invoices, triggering Amazon to transfer millions of dollars into bank accounts controlled by the couple.
The couple then used the money to purchase luxury cars and a $1 million home.
In 2023, Wortham was sentenced to 16 years in prison and ordered to pay nearly $9.5 million in restitution to the company. Hudson will be sentenced in June.
