Sugar Cane Coca-Cola Coming Soon

Atlanta-based Coca-Cola is set to launch a new version of its classic soda sweetened with U.S. cane sugar this fall, marking a shift from its long-standing use of high-fructose corn syrup in the U.S. market.

Coca-Cola’s decision comes days after President Trump announced that he had encouraged the company to start using the ingredient in their products.

The new cane sugar version will be an additional product in Coca-Cola’s lineup, not a replacement for the existing formula.

Flash Flood Warnings Trending Up This Year

Flash flood warnings across Georgia have become increasingly common in 2025.

This year, flash flood warnings have been issued 27 times in Georgia through mid-July, nearly double the usual mid‑year total.

The increase has been attributed to frequent extreme downpours linked to climate change that are overwhelming aging infrastructure and sewer systems statewide.

The state’s rise in flash floods in 2025 reflects a broader national trend. More than 4,800 flash floods have been reported across the U.S. so far this year, a 70% increase compared to the 10‑year average.

Georgia Dog Park Ranks No. 3 in the Nation

The Newtown Dream Dog Park in Johns Creek was recently named the No. 3 best dog park in the nation in USA Today’s 10Best list.

The one-acre park is a fenced area featuring obstacles, water drinking stations, artificial turf, sprinklers for play, and more.

Last year, the dog park took the No. 2 spot on USA Today’s 2024 list.
