Clark was a major general in the Georgia militia, state representative, and U.S. Indian agent, as well as governor of Georgia from 1819 to 1823.

Atlanta Dine-In Movie Theatre Announces Closure

IPIC Theaters at Colony Square in Midtown Atlanta will permanently close on Apr. 28.

As a result, more than 160 employees will be laid off.

The decision comes after the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this week.

The company had previously filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2019.

Former Home Depot Employee Sentenced

Felecia Ingram of Covington, a former employee of Atlanta-based The Home Depot, has been sentenced to over three years in prison for stealing more than $4 million worth of gift cards from the company.

Last year, Ingram pleaded guilty to access device fraud after stealing more than 8,000 gift cards between March 2020 and July 2021.

Ingram used her access to the company’s network to activate the stolen cards before selling them on the black market.

Ingram has also been ordered to pay $3.94 million in restitution to the company.

Developer Chosen for Mall Transformation

In an effort to attract a National Hockey League (NHL) team, the City of Alpharetta has selected Jamestown as the developer to lead a planned transformation of North Point Mall into a mixed-use entertainment district anchored by a potential arena.

The planned redevelopment of the 100-acre property will feature residential housing, retail and office space, hotels, public transit, and an NHL arena.

The final plan will arrive following the completion of the rezoning process.

Last June, Forsyth County approved plans for a similar $3 billion mixed-use development project known as The Gathering as part of a bid to lure an NHL team to the area.
