Georgia National Guard to Aid ICE

Georgia National Guard troops will assist U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement with administrative and logistical work to support immigration enforcement.

Pentagon officials confirmed Georgia and 18 other states will provide National Guard troops through mid-November.

The Georgia National Guard cited its “long history of partnering with federal, state, and local agencies to ensure the safety and security of our communities.”

  Fleetwood Tops Henley in PGA Finale

Tommy Fleetwood held off Georgia native Russell Henley to capture his first PGA tournament win at the Tour Championship on Sunday at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.

Henley, one of several Georgia golfers who played well at the tournament, tied for second.

Fleetwood, 34, won the $10 million top prize and became the first Englishman to win both the FedEx Cup and Tour Championship outright.

Friday Night Lights: 190 Games, 1 Brawl

Georgia high school football lit up the state Friday night, with 190 games on the schedule.

In Macon, the game between Northeast and Southwest ended in the third quarter after a bench-clearing brawl. State and school district officials began investigations.

Elsewhere, close finishes and blowouts dotted the scoreboard, with some games delayed or postponed by weather.
