Mercedes-Benz Picks Georgia for HQ

Mercedes-Benz will establish its North American headquarters at its 800-worker Sandy Springs campus, relocating more than 400 jobs from Detroit to the complex as part of a broader U.S. expansion.

Also planned is a multimillion-dollar research and development center, with the full expansion scheduled for completion by August 2026.

“Bringing our teams closer together will enable us to be more agile, increase speed to market, and ensure the best customer experience,” Mercedes-Benz North America CEO Jason Hoff said.

Gov. Brian Kemp said Georgia is shaping the future of mobility and innovation, attracting top automotive names like Mercedes-Benz, Kia, Hyundai, Porsche, and Rivian.

Holiday Weekend Rush Starts

Memorial Day weekend will bring sunshine, possible scattered storms, and busy highways, with an estimated 1.38 million Georgians expected to hit the road starting today.

AAA noted peak traffic times to avoid, while the Georgia State Patrol urged drivers to stay safe and drive smart, noting that last year’s holiday weekend resulted in 14,000 citations, 500 DUIs, 500 crashes, and 8 deaths.

The weather forecast calls for an average high temperature of 82 degrees, with a chance of showers on Sunday and Monday.

Best and Worst Grocery Stores Ranked

Two Trader Joe’s locations in Atlanta ranked as the No. 22 and No. 50 best grocery stores in the U.S., based on a study of Google reviews. No other grocers in the state made the top 50.

The same study also ranked the nation’s worst grocery stores, with four stores in Atlanta making the bottom 50. You can see the full rankings of the best and worst stores here.

The study’s author said the rankings are based on an analysis of more than 7 million Google reviews across 100 cities.
