President Trump visited Rome on Thursday, greeted at the airport by Herschel Walker, Gunner Stockton, and others before delivering a speech touting U.S. economic gains during a visit to the Coosa Steel plant.

Trump was joined at the event by Lookout Mountain district attorney and U.S. Air Force veteran Clay Fuller, whom Trump has endorsed in the special election to fill the congressional seat vacated by Marjorie Taylor Greene of Rome.

On the way to the steel company, Trump stopped by iconic restaurant The Varsity, where he talked with the owners, customers, and staff. He also ordered hamburgers for the ride back to Washington, D.C., on Air Force One.

In the speech, Trump touted gains made by the U.S. steel industry, lower inflation, and his new order limiting corporate home ownership. On the campaign front, he reaffirmed his endorsement of Lt. Gov. Burt Jones for governor. You can watch the speech here.

Allstate will cut auto insurance rates by 5% statewide, becoming the fourth major insurer in recent months to cut rates for Georgia drivers.

Earlier rate cuts were announced by State Farm, Liberty Mutual, and Safeco. Allstate’s rate cut is projected to generate about $17.7 million in savings for its Georgia private passenger vehicle policyholders this year.

State insurance commissioner John King credited the lower rates to regulatory initiatives prioritizing affordability, transparency, and consumer protection, along with efforts to combat insurance fraud and abuse in the state.

King’s office also approved an average 6% rate reduction for three Country Mutual Insurance affiliates.

Georgia men’s golf coach Chris Haack plans to step down after 30 seasons in Athens, ending a tenure that produced two national championships and a pipeline of PGA Tour stars.

Georgia assistant coach and former player Mookie DeMoss is expected to replace Haack, who will transition into a special advisor role. DeMoss was the captain of the school’s 2015 golf team.

Haack, hired in July 1996, has led Georgia to NCAA titles in 1999 and 2005 and coached 12 players who went on to win on the PGA Tour, including major winners Bubba Watson and Brian Harman.

Last year, seven former Bulldogs—Watson, Harman, Russell Henley, Harris English, Sepp Straka, Davis Thompson, and Chris Kirk—competed in the 2025 Masters.

A New Era for Gold & Silver

For years now, many people in or near retirement have viewed precious metals through a single lens: wealth preservation. It was the “safe haven” you turned to when the rest of the market looked shaky.

But that era may have ended… with a new one emerging.

We have now entered a period of unprecedented momentum.

Gold charged past $5,000/oz.

& Silver skyrocketed past $100/oz.

For the first time in decades, the conversation for retirement savers seems to be shifting. It’s no longer just about “holding the line”—it’s about the potential growth these physical assets could bring to a diversified portfolio.

Why This Could Just Be The Beginning

While $5,000 gold and $100 silver are historic milestones, many seasoned market analysts suggest this move may just be getting started, even with the recent pullbacks.

Analysts report that gold has more room to run as geopolitics and central banks buying fuel gains. With the upcoming U.S. mid-term elections, political uncertainty may increase further.  At the same time, persistent concerns about over-valued equity markets could reinforce portfolio diversification flows into gold.
