Gulfstream Aerospace once again delivered on its annual donation of $5 million to Savannah-area schools, technical colleges, and universities.

The investment supports K-12 STEM programs, dual enrollment for high schoolers, and university research partnerships.

Gulfstream President Mark Burns noted that most of the company’s hiring comes through Georgia colleges. “As we continue to grow, to be able to ensure that we can provide local talent that helps us grow our business,” he said.

Gulfstream has grown from roughly 100 employees in 1983 to more than 20,000, about 13,000 of whom work in Georgia.

Article Icon 120 Hospitals Earn ‘A’ for Safety

Twenty Georgia hospitals earned an “A” in The Leapfrog Group’s Spring 2026 Hospital Safety Grades.

Top scorers span the state, from Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta to Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, and Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.

The biannual report assigns letter grades to general hospitals nationwide based on how well they protect patients from medical errors, infections, and preventable harm.

Nationally, grades showed improvement across 17 safety measures, including a 50% drop in central line-associated bloodstream infections since 2022. Georgia ranked 29th among all states for the percentage of hospitals receiving “A” grades.
