Article Icon 1 More Time Sought in Trump Case

The team assigned to find a replacement for Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis in the Trump election case asked a judge for more time, possibly as much as several months.

Meanwhile, a state Senate committee investigating Willis’ handling of public funds in the case confirmed she will testify on Nov. 13.

The request for more time by the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council came in response to a judge’s order on Friday directing the nonpartisan agency to name a new prosecutor by Oct. 17.

Even if a new prosecutor is appointed, the case is unlikely to move forward against President Trump while he’s president. Fourteen others face charges in the case.

The combined average costs total about $3,392 a year, or $283 a month.

The study found that Delaware and New York are the most expensive states, and Montana is the cheapest.
